Renate Link

In addition to my degrees in Business Administration (focus: Tourism Management), in General & Business English and in Methodology & Didactics of German as a Foreign Language, I acquired additional qualifications in Vocational Pedagogy and Intercultural Communication & Cooperation. Before becoming a professor, I was working as a Trainer for Languages and Intercultural Management with an international clientele. I hold a PhD in English Cultural Studies & Literatures and Economics; since my dissertation on Intercultural Communication in Tourism, I have been focusing on cross-cultural research. To this end, I publish scholarly articles, present papers at major international conferences, and supervise cooperative doctoral theses. In addition, I (co-)lead several subject-specific didactic working groups at BayZiel and the SIETAR regional chapter Frankfurt-Rhine-Main-Lower Franconia. I am also on the board of the German Society for Key Competences and a member of the IACCM Council.
