TUAS, one of Finland’s leading universities of applied sciences, has over 800 employees and approximately 12,000 graduate students studying in Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes in the fields of engineering, business, healthcare and arts and culture. TUAS engages in lively cooperation with its international partners around the world in terms of student and staff exchanges and international projects. The first strategic alliance of European UAS, Consortium of Applied Research and Professional Education (CARPE), was co-founded by TUAS. Global Gateway co-creative management and responsible leadership is one of TUAS’s 30 research groups. It focuses on co-creative management, pro-active management, responsible leadership and project management. One of its special focus areas is developing companies’ international competences to increase their competitiveness and strengthen their ability to operate in an ever-changing operating environment. The need for intercultural and linguistic skills, as well as skills needed in teamwork, sustainability, project management and virtual communication has increased, and globalization and digitalization have opened up new business opportunities. Project-oriented problem solving, teamwork, as well as tools and methodologies have been widely applied in courses and in the development of students’ skills mainly in the fields of engineering and business, but also in healthcare and arts and culture.
