TUAS, one of the leading Finnish universities of applied sciences, has over 800 staff members and about 12,000 degree students studying in the Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree Programmes. TUAS offers degree programme education in the fields of Engineering, Business, Health Care as well as Arts and Culture. The degree programmes provide a good platform for interdisciplinary learning. TUAS is engaged in lively cooperation with its international partners around the world for example in terms of student and staff exchanges as well as international projects. The first strategic alliance of European
UASes, Consortium of Applied Research and Professional Education (CARPE), was co-founded by TUAS. Global Gateway
-co-creative management and responsible leadership is one of the 30 research groups at TUAS. It focuses on co-creative
management, pro-active management, responsible leadership, and project management. One of its special focus areas is the development of companies’ international skills to increase their competitiveness and strengthen their ability to operate in
a changing operating environment. The need for intercultural and language skills as well as skills needed in teamwork,
sustainability, project management and virtual communication has increased, and globalization and digitalization have
opened new business opportunities. Project Management is a significant part of studies in several Bachelor’s and Master’s
degree programmes at TUAS. Project oriented problem solving, team work as well as tools and methodologies have been applied broadly in courses and students’ skills development mostly in the Engineering and Business Sectors but also in Health Care and Arts & Culture.
In addition, TUAS offers a Master’s Degree Programme in Project Management (PM) for students with an engineering or
business background. The programme covers project management topics including traditional and agile PM methods. The education is based on international project frameworks, standards, and practical case examples. The PM degree programme develops the student’s own leadership profile towards motivational and executive leadership. The students learn to lead people and change in a results-oriented, sustainable, and ethical way, as well as renew and develop their organisations by applying appropriate methods and utilizing the latest knowledge from research.
